SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH IN NYC

September is National Preparedness Month — a nationwide effort co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the American Red Cross to encourage individuals to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, and schools.
In New York City, OEM, in partnership with many corporate and
community partners, will host a number of events to promote the
Ready New York preparedness message around the city. From a
kick-off event at Grand Central Terminal to a corporate fair in
downtown Brooklyn, OEM and its partners will encourage New Yorkers
to develop a disaster plan, assemble an emergency supply kit, put
together a Go Bag, and learn more about local hazards throughout
September. Being prepared for any emergency — whether a house
fire, power outage, hurricane, or terrorist attack — is as easy
as planning ahead.
